Restoration of Plot 15B

Plot 15B is currently vacant and Bolton Council have a duty of care to clear the plot and make it safe, however, Bolton Council have no cash available for this and so it is down to volunteers to get stuck in.

The problem with this plot is that it is covered in brambles which must be cut down with a hedge trimmer prior to cutting back with a brush cutter. The debris can them be gathered and placed in compost bins. After a couple of hours, about an eighth of the allotment has been cleared ready for the brambles to be taken off.

Plot 15B has been cleared to the back fence, retaining the three apple trees at the back. The next job will be to remove the debris from the surface. That may be possible by using a petrol lawnmower to mulch the brambles, but not sure if this will actually work. Update to come.
