Plot 18B is a half plot which has been vacant for a while. The plot had become overgrown and neglected. Bolton Council have removed any hazardous waste (glass etc.), so Sapling Road Allotment Society have cleared the plot and will keep the plot clear for the future tenant. We are also looking at building up new planting beds with some free compost from North West Waste.

Plot 18B is a half plot and had become overgrown

The plot has a raised bed which could be put to good use.

Lots of overgrown weed and bramble at the back of the allotment.

The plot has been cleared using a brush cutter and there’s a raised bed to the side which needs a little work.

The main raised bed on the plot will be useful, but needs topping up with compost.

We still have a few gas bottles and other bits of rubbish to remove.

Plot 18B needs a little more work, especially at the back, and we will try to get a free metre bag of compost from North West Waste for this project. Updates to come.
