Plot 21 on the Sapling Road Allotment Site became vacant a few months ago and due to the fact that we only have 2 people waiting on our, currently closed waiting list, and they have Sapling Road Allotment Site as their second preference, it was not let out and began to get overgrown.

The image above was taken on the 7th May 2023 and in just a few weeks the growth had begun to be out of control (see image below).

Obviously, anyone wanting an allotment would not want to take on something as overgrown as this, and so Sapling Road Allotment Society got stuck in and cleared the weeds. The allotment was also rotovated to break up the soil ready for planting. Hopefully, Bolton Council will open the waiting list for our allotment site shortly, meanwhile Sapling Road Allotment Society will maintain the plot to an acceptable standard.
