Improvement Notices have been issued to a number of tenants on Sapling Road Allotment Site. The Improvement Notices required improvement to be discernable within a fourteen day period, and it appears that a few tenants have quit their plots in response.

We were aware that plots 15B, 18B and 21 were vacant and that plot 3 and 4 could possibly be amalgamated to form a full plot ready to be let out. However, a Freedom of Information response received from Bolton Council on the 7th August 2023 showed that, in fact, plots 3, 4, 8, 15b, 17, 18b, 21, 26, and 45 were vacant.

The Notices of Improvement were received by tenants around the 27th July, presumably following a site inspection, and a further inspection was due around the 10th August. Failure to improve the state of the plot would cause the issuance of a Notice of Re-Entry. We are not aware if any Notices of Re-Entry have actually been issued.
