The Society Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held on Sunday 2nd November 2025 in the Amenity Hut. A financial report will be provided by The Treasurer and Officers of The Society will then stand down. Any member may put themselves forward to be an Officer (Chairman, Treasurer, Secretary). Our Constitution allows voting by proxy and if you cannot attend the meeting you may make your voting preference known in writing. A physical vote by proxy must be signed by the tenant/member, or, a proxy vote can be made by email originating from the tenant/member email account (name of account to be clearly displayed).

The Society has moved forward over the current season 2024/2025. The Society has been granted use of Plot 1, free of charge, by Bolton Council. We now have our polytunnel (donated by Laurence Weekes, Plot 6) up and running. Plants and baskets collected from B&Q under the Neighbourly Charity Scheme have been sold for around £400 with very little expenditure. Andrew Jenkins, Plot 13, made up baskets from B&Q and raised around £120. Friends of Over Hulton held a plant sale for us and raised £116. The rest of the £400 has been direct sales from the polytunnel to members and friends. Obviously, the polytunnel will be important to our fundraising ventures in the future and we hope to raise around £1,000 a year from plant sales. We have kept the flags in front of the toilets weed free this year and have bought toilet rolls and soap for the toilets. The planter in front of the toilets has been planted and maintained. We have also cut the grass on communal areas regularly and have strimmed Plot 1. While The Society for years paid the electricity bill in the amenity hut (around £300 per annum), we questioned this cost and Bolton Council are now paying the bill. We have sourced a very good compost from Pole Green in Chorley and have stocked this in the Trading Hut charging our members cost price (£4 per bag). We have had garden furniture donated to us and we have fixed and painted this furniture which is now in the garden by the Trading Hut. We have also sourced horse manure and woodchip for the good and benefit of all tenants. Help us to continue this good work by voting at the AGM.
